I have learned to approach my reasoning with great skepticism during moments of strong emotional intensity, especially when there’s a sense of urgency. When that inner voice insists, “This must be said right now! This has to be done immediately! I can’t take it anymore!”—the likelihood of being centered in your truth diminishes in direct proportion to the intensity of that urgency.
The key is to recognize that the feeling you’re experiencing is real. You are having it. But the real question is: what’s causing it?
One common cause is the ego, which seeks to maintain control. It’s the ego that creates this sense of urgency. The small self feels deeply threatened and attributes the cause of its discomfort to something external. The ego believes that eliminating an external factor will bring internal relief. Yet, this is a misunderstanding, as the true source of the distress lies within.
